The Viscount and The Orphan

My new novel, The Viscount and The Orphan, set in Queen Anne Stuart’s reign, 1702-1714, will be published by BooksWeLoe in Septemeber.
While writing it, I visited the past and dlved into the history, social history and economic history. I only use part of my fascinating research to show the character’s lives and times – their clothes, their food, their pastimes, etc.

De-tox, cleansing for health

Thick ground frost this morning. It’s very cold outside here in Hertfordshire although the sun is shining. Before the weather is warm enough for me to work in my greenhouse and garden, I decided to detoxtoday. I am observing the twenty-four cleansing for health.
This is the reason.
“If you suffer from occasional attacks of the energy droops – too many late nights, a few drinks too many, extra pressure at work, problems at home, the after effects of a cold or of an attack of flu – you’ll soon recover if you are healthy. But a detox will help you get back on your feet. That’s because fasting increases your natural resistance to infection, encourages the body to heal it’s damaged tissues and encourages homoeostasis – its mechanism that mainstains the body’s chemical stability, without which we couldn’t survive.” The Little Book of Detox Tips by Michael Van Straten.
I am not hungry while I detox. After I relax on the following day I am not tired and my energy increases.
