Names for Fictional Characters

I can’t begin to write a new #classic#historical#romance until I choose the forenames of the main characters. I spent hours searching for the heroine’s name in a novel I will submit to my publisher in 2024. Inappropriate names in fiction for an era such as Sky or Wayne annoy me. So far my characters are English.
The Oxford Dictionary of English Christian Names is very useful. Once, I wanted to call my heroine, Wendy, in a medieval novel but it was first used by J.M. Barrie in Peter Pan in 1904.

Do good to others.

I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindess I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not not neglect it nor, for I shall not pass this way again.

Love is a Many Splendoured Thing
